I believe in helping all people no matter where they are at in their financial journey. That is what lead me to start St. Croix Wealth Management and our strong belief in our mission statement; Helping all people navigate their financial journey. It’s about the relationship with a person or family not the size of their portfolio.
Growing up in Forest Lake, MN on a 5th generation farm, family values were instilled in me at an early age. A lot of my core beliefs and sense of community came from our close-knit family and being active in Boy Scouts, earning the Eagle Scout Award. I now live in Woodbury, MN with my beautiful wife, Sarah, and our two amazing daughters; Evelyn, age 11 and Amelia, age 9. Our girls are our lives. My wife and I are usually running one of our daughters to or from dance. We are active all year round with their dance competitions and I have the honor of being Dance Dad of the Year in 2017. When not running around for dance, we enjoy our time together boating on the St. Croix River. It is our retreat from the hectic and crazy world. We are members of the Miss Croix Yacht Club and I serve on the board as the Vice Commodore. The St. Croix River and boating has always been an inspirational spot for our family and has inspired our name, St. Croix Wealth Management. Our family is active members at Shepard of the Valley Lutheran Church in Afton, MN. I enjoy connecting with other Christian families and belong to two small groups, one of which I helped form called Bible & Brews. I am truly blessed with all the people in my life.
I attended Minnesota State University, Mankato in the aviation program. My passion for aviation start when I was young, soloing at the age of 16 and earning my private license at age 17. That passion is still alive and is translated in our approach to financial planning. Before taking a cross county flight, we would always file an official flight plan. The same is true when preparing for one of life’s biggest journeys, Retirement! Everyone should have a plan in place and know that that plan will change while you are on that journey. Our approach to financial planning is much like filling a flight plan or setting a destination into your GPS. Much like the GPS in your car or phone, if you must detour around construction or pull off for a rest, the GPS will guide you back on course. Your Financial GPS, as we refer to it, will help you detour around market corrections, a change in employment or any curve balls life sends us and get you back on course.
After September 11th, 2001, my life changed course and took me in a different direction. I changed careers and went back to school to earn my Uniform Combined State Law Examinations Series 66, General Securities Representatives Series 7 registration, along with the Minnesota Life and Health Insurance License. I have been helping people navigate their financial journey ever since.
