Being of good service to others gets me out of bed each day. I have made it my daily practice to follow the golden rule by treating others the way I would like to be treated and I have found, that doing that well is enough to keep me busy for the rest of my life.
Growing up in Minnesota as first generation American my family origins come from the Island of Jamaica WI. Blending the traits of both of my parents, my father a teacher and my mother a family counselor I have a love of learning new things and listening to understand my fellow friend.
I had a long career as a hairstylist/makeup artist and with my natural curiosity for seeing what else I could do, many opportunities opened up for me including producing and directing photoshoots, working on movies and commercials as a stylist behind the camera, and also acting and modeling in front of the camera. In 2013 I found myself having to make a sudden career change as the chemicals of the hair profession began to wreak havoc on my body. After many months of undiagnosed doctors appointments, I was guided to the funeral home business where I worked at Washburn McReavy/Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis as a Pre-Need Specialist and Family Service Counselor, which I thoroughly enjoyed for the past 9 years.
I am the mother of two amazing sons, Julian, age 35, has graced many stages with his dance and choreography from; the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis to South Africa to Japan, doing what he loves most, dancing and connecting with different cultures across the globe. Parker, my youngest son age 31 works in the NBA as the head video manager, and player development coach for the Portland Trailblazers, teaching the players how to bring out their best basketball qualities. I couldn't be more proud of them my consistent message to them was to simply follow their hearts to see where they would land.
I have a plethora of interests and activities that I do to keep myself busy physically which include tennis, rollerskating, hiking, biking, and snowshoeing to name a few things.
For me, on-the-job training is my favorite way to learn. I have done this through countless courses such as public speaking, and interpersonal communications at Normandale college, to online learning courses that helped me become a published author through Christian Faith Publishing, along with starting my own talk show called MN Heals to talk to people about their journeys towards healing, especially during the pandemic and riots.
Once again, another journey is starting for me as I am embarking on a new chapter with St. Croix Wealth Management as the Medicare Specialist. I am honored and super excited to grow and expand into this position and cannot wait to be of exceptional service to you!
